We get this question a lot — especially during New Mexico’s unpredictable fall weather! So let’s clear up what happens if rain decides to make an appearance on your session day.
Q: Will our session be canceled if it rained or is raining?
A: Not necessarily! We always keep a close eye on the weather in the days leading up to your session. If it looks like it might rain, here’s what we do:
We watch the forecast carefully — because let’s be honest, New Mexico weather can change by the hour! Sometimes a quick sprinkle passes before your session even starts.
We’ll be in touch — You’ll hear from us the day before or morning of your session if the weather looks questionable. We’ll make a plan together based on the forecast and how things are looking at your session location.
We can reschedule if needed — If it’s pouring or the weather just won’t cooperate, we’ll find a new date that works for you! Your session will not be lost or canceled — we’ll simply move it to another day.
Sometimes, we keep shooting! — A little drizzle or cloudy sky can actually make for beautiful, soft lighting and stunning photos. If it’s safe and comfortable, we may still go ahead!
