1. Relax Your Shoulders and Jaw

Tension shows instantly in photos — especially around the shoulders and face. Before each pose, take a deep breath, drop your shoulders, and gently relax your jaw.

Why it matters:A relaxed posture makes your photos look softer, more natural, and effortlessly flattering.

Pro tip: Think of your posture as “confident but comfortable.”

💃 2. Shift Your Weight for a Natural Look

Standing flat with weight evenly on both feet can look stiff.Instead, shift your weight onto one leg — it instantly adds shape and movement.

Try this:

  • Slightly bend one knee

  • Pop a hip subtly (not dramatically!)

  • Let your body fall into a comfortable angle

This simple move creates more natural lines and a relaxed vibe.

🤗 3. Create Space Between Limbs and Body

When arms or hands are pressed tightly against your body, they appear less defined. A tiny bit of space makes all the difference!

Tips:

  • Gently bend your elbows

  • Let your hands rest lightly (in pockets, on hips, holding a jacket, etc.)

  • Avoid fully straightened arms

This adds shape, dimension, and a much more flattering silhouette.

😊 4. Think of Something That Makes You Genuinely Smile

The best photos are the ones where your true personality shines.Instead of forcing a smile, think of someone or something that makes you genuinely happy.

It could be:

  • Your kids’ giggles

  • A funny memory

  • Your pet

  • Your favorite person

A real smile lights up your whole face — especially your eyes.

📐 5. Use Angles to Your Advantage

Facing the camera head-on can sometimes feel too rigid.Instead, turn your body slightly at a 45-degree angle.

This helps:

  • Slim and elongate your shape

  • Add dimension

  • Highlight your natural curves or lines

For seated poses, lean slightly forward from the waist — it brings you closer to the camera in a flattering way.

💛 Bonus: Trust Your Photographer
