Your baby’s first year is full of changes—each stage brings new milestones, smiles, and memories you’ll want to treasure forever. At Kate Buckles Photography, we love capturing these moments through 3, 6, and 9-month milestone sessions. These sessions freeze time and document your baby’s growth in the sweetest way.

Wondering how to prepare?

Here are our tips to make your milestone sessions easy and enjoyable:

1. Choose Outfits That Let Baby Shine

Simple is best! Soft neutrals, pastel tones, or outfits with gentle textures (like knits) keep the focus on your baby. Avoid bold logos or busy patterns that distract from their adorable expressions.

💡 Pro Tip: Bring a backup outfit—just in case of spills or accidents.

2. Schedule Around Baby’s Happy Time

Try to plan the session after a nap and feeding, when your baby is usually happiest. A well-rested, full baby is more likely to give us those sweet smiles and curious looks.

3. Bring Favorite Items

A small toy, blanket, or lovey can help baby feel comfortable. Sometimes incorporating these into the photos makes the session even more personal.

4. Know What to Expect at Each Stage

  • 3 Months: Baby is starting to lift their head and smile—sessions are often on their back or tummy for adorable close-ups.

  • 6 Months: Sitting unassisted (or with minimal support) gives us lots of playful poses and expressions.

  • 9 Months: Crawling and exploring means we capture movement, curiosity, and that budding personality.

Each session is unique, and we’ll work with whatever your baby is ready for.

Your little one changes so much in the first year—don’t miss the chance to document it. Our milestone sessions are designed to celebrate these fleeting stages with beautiful images you’ll treasure forever.
