How to PRINT your Photos so they LOOK Amazing!

Remember the days when you would buy a print package for your photos, and digital was just not an option?! These days a lot has changed in photography, and I personally think we want our photos in digitals so you can have on your phone, share on social media and use how you like.

In my packages, you get a print release, meaning you can print wherever you like! But if you are planning to rush to the photo lab (aka Walmart or the drug store) around the corner to have those photos printed, you may want to give it a second thought!!

Yes, you have just paid me, a professional photographer to take your photos and you want to save some money but by not getting a professional to print your photos, you won’t be getting the full effect of the time and effort that went into those images! I talk to clients all the time who got them printed at convenience store or drug store, and the photos lose so much quality!

This past year, out of curiosity, I did a test and printed at 5 different places, Walgreens, WalMart, Costco, Shutterfly, and my own professional printer, and my goodness... It was WILD the variation in colors, quality and overall look!!

So why should you get a professional to print your photos?

There is a reason that I spend hours editing your photos. I aim to perfect the colors and sharpness of the images so that it is a work of art and not just another photo. I have my monitors calibrated with the professional printing company that I use. This all results in the best prints you can get to make your photos beautiful! Your local photo lab is not a professional photo lab and the person who will print your photos most likely will not have a background in photography or a trained eye, and they have not been trained in color theory.

As my client, you access to a professional lab through your gallery, and we have built a strong working relationship with them. My professional printer use professional-grade paper, inks and machines that you won’t find at a regular store, which is why they cost a little extra. Trained technicians also monitor the printing process to ensure that you receive the very best quality of images. By investing a little extra in your prints with your photographer, you ensure that they last longer because better materials were used.

And the GREAT news?! When you print through your gallery, the prices are VERY competitive and typically ship to you within days so you don't have to wait long to get your photos on your walls to enjoy!

There is of course a place for your 1 hour-print labs but if you’re looking to print photos for the walls in your home then having your photos professionally printed is well worth the investment!!

Love,

Kate
