When Is the Best Time to Schedule Senior Pictures?

One of the most common questions I hear every year is,

"When should we schedule senior pictures?"

It's a great question, and the answer is probably a little earlier than most families expect.

Senior year has a way of filling up quickly. Between sports, school, college applications, homecoming, prom, graduation, and everything in between, calendars seem to fill overnight. Before you know it, yearbook deadlines are approaching, weekends are booked, and everyone is wondering where the time went.

That's why I always encourage families to start thinking about senior pictures several months before they think they need them. Planning ahead gives us the freedom to create a session that's relaxed, personalized, and completely focused on celebrating this incredible milestone.

One of the things I love most about photographing seniors in New Mexico is that every season tells a different story.

If your school has a yearbook deadline, don't wait until a few weeks before it's due to schedule your session.

I recommend reaching out several months in advance so we'll have plenty of time for your session, editing, ordering, and making sure everything is ready long before it's needed.

The earlier we start planning, the more relaxed the entire experience will be.
