It’s the most wonderful (and busiest!) time of the year — and we’re so excited to help you capture it beautifully with your Kate Buckles Photography Christmas Mini Session!

Smiling child in red plaid dress stands among small snow-covered Christmas trees, hands on hips, against a white background.

Whether you’ve booked our cozy Pajama Minis, festive Baking Minis, classic Studio Minis, or magical Doc Long Outdoor Minis, a little preparation goes a long way toward making your session smooth, fun, and stress-free. Here’s how to make the most of your time in front of the camera:

🎁 1. Plan Your Outfits Early

Pick your outfits a few days in advance to avoid last-minute stress. Choose colors that coordinate (not match exactly!) and complement the look of your session.

  • Classic Minis: Think elegant neutrals, rich reds, deep greens, or winter whites.

  • Pajama Minis: Matching Christmas PJs, cozy socks, and maybe even a favorite stuffed animal for the kids.

  • Baking Minis: Aprons, jeans, and simple tops that fit the “holiday kitchen” theme.

  • Doc Long Minis: Layers, cozy knits, scarves, and boots — it might be chilly outdoors!

Bring backups for little ones in case of spills or accidents.

✨ 2. Arrive a Few Minutes Early

Mini sessions are short — usually just 10 minutes — so arriving early gives you time to park, fix hair or outfits, and take a deep breath before the fun begins. Being on time ensures you get every minute of your session and the best possible photos!

🎅 3. Keep It Fun and Relaxed

The best smiles come when everyone is having fun! Let the kids play, giggle, and be themselves — we’ll guide the posing naturally so you get a mix of candid and classic shots.

🍬 4. Bring a Few Little Extras

It can help to bring:

  • A small snack or treat for little ones (nothing too messy!)

  • A hairbrush or wipes for quick touch-ups

  • A favorite toy or blanket for comfort (especially for young kids)

🎁 5. Remember Why You’re There

Mini sessions fly by, but the memories last forever. Don’t stress if everything isn’t “perfect.” The goal is to capture your family’s love, laughter, and joy — exactly as you are this Christmas season. ❤️
