Tips & Tricks for Making the Most of Your Los Conchas Session 🌲📸

We are so excited to capture your family at beautiful Los Conchas in the Jemez! This location is one of our favorites for its sweeping views, forest trails, and gorgeous light. To make sure your session is smooth and stress-free, here are a few helpful tips:

1. Plan Ahead ⏰

Los Conchas is about an hour and thirty minutes from Albuquerque. Be sure to map your route ahead of time — cell service can get spotty once you’re in the mountains. Knowing where you’re going before you leave will make your trip so much easier.

2. Leave With Plenty of Time 🚗

Mountain roads can be slower than expected, and we don’t want you to feel rushed. Give yourself extra travel time so you can arrive relaxed and ready to go.

3. Be Trail-Ready 👟

Sessions at Los Conchas involve a short trail walk to reach the most beautiful spots. Make sure everyone is ready to head down the trail at your scheduled session time so we don’t lose precious light.

4. Dress Smart (Especially With Shoes!) 👠

If you’d like to wear heels or dressy shoes in your photos, we recommend bringing comfortable sandals or flats for the walk and switching into your photo shoes once we’re at the spot. That way, you’ll look amazing and stay comfortable too!
